Description
Igor, from Moldova, and Rocio, from Santander Spain, began dancing together in August 2016. That year, they decided to dedicate themselves professionally to Bachata dancing and have shown their talent on numerous national and international stages since.
How each of them started dancing though is very different:
Rocio started her artistic training with figure skating and competed on a regional and national level for 8 years. In 2007 she decided to trade the skates for dance shoes and received her first Latin and ballroom dance lessons. She competed for 6 years in dancesport and retro and won several titles.
Igor, who has lived in Spain for 14 years, started with acrobatics in his home country and became recognized for his talent in both Moldova and Spain. In 2014, he became part of Alberto Pineda's Contemporary Dance Company, which enabled him to perform all over Spain. Although he had mainly been trained in Salsa, he tried everything to find a dance partner and make a name in Bachata.
This is when Igor and Rocio got to know each other and started a new and exciting Bachata dance journey. Since then, they have placed 2nd at the Bachata Open Championship and 3rd at the World Bachata Championship.
